Newton Girls Softball (NGS) is an entirely volunteer-run organization offering softball to Newton children in kindergarten through 8th grade since the late 1990s. Each spring it runs an all-comers Rec program (about 300 Newton families participate) with divisions from K/1 through grades 6-8; in summer it runs the competitive Panthers travel teams. Its stated focus is self-esteem, team spirit, skills training, and fun.
The Available Programs page currently shows 'No Programs are Currently Displayed' for both 2026 Fall Softball and 2026 Spring Recreational Softball. Next-season registration dates not published on official site as of 2026-10-02.
